Welcome BestBus Passenger! We are happy that you have chosen to travel with us. The following terms and conditions (referred to on this page as “Terms”) apply to all reservations, tickets and trips with BestBus, Incorporated. "You", as used in these Terms, means the person using this website, as well as all passengers for whom a reservation is made, a ticket is purchased or who travel with us.
 
Reservations
  1. Tickets may be purchased on the BestBus reservation website, located here. All tickets are payable in United States currency at the time of purchase. All tickets include local, state and federal sales or excise taxes as applicable.
  2. Once purchased, all tickets are non-refundable.
  3. Although we do not issue refunds once the ticket has been purchased, you may reschedule your trip or put your ticket on hold by using this website at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure, without incurring any penalty. (BestBus TOO Members may reschedule their trip or put their ticket on hold at least 12 hours prior to their scheduled departure, without incurring any penalty.) You will be responsible for any additional fees if the face value of the initial ticket is less than the price of the rescheduled ticket.
  4. If you wish to reschedule your trip or put your ticket on hold less than 24 hours (or 12 hours for BestBus Too Members) before your scheduled departure, you must contact BestBus by telephone at (202) 332-2691 or 1 888 888-DCNY . Our customer service representatives will try to help you to reschedule your trip or put the ticket on hold. However, this option is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. This option may also be subject to additional fees or penalties.
  5. Any on hold tickets must be used within one year of the initial purchase of the ticket. After one year, your ticket will have no value and cannot be used.
  6. You are required to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of the bus. If you have not arrived by that time, then BestBus reserves the right to cancel your ticket and sell your seat or seats to stand-by passengers. If you fail to arrive on time for your scheduled departure, then BestBus may allow you to travel on a later bus, if there are seats available, in our sole discretion. However, BestBus is under no obligation to accommodate you if you arrive late. If you do not arrive on the day scheduled for your departure, your ticket will be void, cannot be used later and BestBus will not issue a refund or allow you to reschedule your departure.
  7. Passengers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children over two or in a car seat must have their own ticket. Children under two and held on an adult’s lap travel free of charge. 
  8. Fare change - fare may change on some schedule. If the fare changed after your purchase, you will not be aligable for a refund or credit if the new fare is lower.
  9. Promotion codes and coupons - Combining promotion codes or coupons is not possible. You can only use one promo or coupon at the time. All promotion codes, coupons and money credits must be added and recalculated before compliting the reservation, coupon/discount that was not applied before the perchase cannot be applie after the purchase and no credit or partial/full refunds will be given.

Travel
  1. We offer a free bottle of water to ticketed passengers without charge. There may be times when circumstances prevent us from making the water available. No refund will be made if that happens.
  2. There are no assigned seat and seats are on first come first served basis. We cannot guarantee any specific seat or adjacent seat but will accommodate any person with disability or elderly person to the best of our abilities.
  3. We offer baggage assistance to ticketed BestBus passengers, but we cannot assume liability for forgotten, lost, damaged, or stolen personal property before, during or after your trip.
  4. We offer free wi-fi service and electrical outlets for the use of ticketed passengers. There may be times when circumstances prevent us from making these one or both of these services available. No refund will be made if that happens. We also assume no responsibility for issues that arise as a result of your use of these services, nor for any damage to your devices or their contents that may occur during your use of these services, whether resulting from viruses, unauthorized access, electrical surges or from any other cause.
  5. In order to ensure the availability of wi-fi for more of our passengers, we cannot allow the streaming of audio or video files.
  6. Pets are not permitted on any BestBus bus at any time, with the exception of service animals. Service animals may be denied access to the bus if, the animal is out of control and the passenger does not take effective action to control it; or the animal is not housebroken.
  7. Passengers are entitled to one seat per ticket, to ensure that other passengers are not excluded.
  8. Open alcoholic beverage containers are not permitted on any BestBus bus at any time.
  9. In order to ensure your safety and enjoyment during the trip, BestBus reserves the right to refuse to transport a passenger, to move a passenger to a new seat, or to remove a passenger during the trip because the passenger, in the sole opinion of BestBus, (i) is disruptive to or threatens the safety of other passengers (ii) appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs; (iii) refuses to submit to the search of his or her property; (iv) does not provide appropriate identification upon request; (v) is in violation of any law or regulation, including these Terms; or (vi) has a communicable disease, which BestBus knows or reasonably believes will jeopardize the safety of other passengers.
  10. BestBus assumes no responsibility whatsoever resulting from any delays or disruptions before, during and after travel due to accidents, weather, road conditions, breakdowns or any other conditions. We may reschedule reservations when necessary due to these causes or conditions.
  11. You (as the Passenger) understand that BestBus is acting only as the agent for DC Trails, which is the actual operator of all of the buses used by BestBus. You agree to hold only DC Trails liable for any claims or actions arising before, during or after your travel and due to the conduct (including negligent conduct) in the operation or ownership of a bus.
  12. All of our buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts.  If you will be using a wheelchair, you must notify us at least 48 hours before the scheduled date of your travel. This will allow us to make the necessary arrangements and to ensure that the bus will have adequate space for your wheelchair
 
General Terms and Conditions
  1. We will not share your credit card or any other personal information with any outside parties, except as required by law or in compliance with a court order.
  2. BestBus may, in its sole discretion, change, alter or amend these Terms at any time and without prior notice. Any change to these Terms will apply to current reservations and tickets, as well as to any reservations made or tickets purchased after a change is made.
  3. The laws of the District of Columbia, without giving effect to its conflicts of law principles, govern all matters related to these Terms. Any party bringing a legal action or proceeding against any other party arising out of or relating to these Terms may only bring that action or proceeding in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
  4. If for some reason we don’t enforce a breach of one or more of these Terms, that will not affect our right to enforce them later if we so choose.
  5. All persons must comply with any applicable local, state and Federal laws and regulations in connection with travel with BestBus.
  6. You acknowledge that BestBus is not and will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including loss of profits, revenue, use or any other economic disadvantage incurred, arising out of, or in any way related to these Terms or travel with BestBus, under any theory of liability, whether in contract, strict liability, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, even if BestBus knew or should have known of the possibility of such damages
  7. You agree to indemnify BestBus and hold it harmless from any and all claims, actions, obligations, liabilities and expenses (including but not limited to attorneys’ fees) that are incurred by BestBus arising out of your breach of these Terms.
  8. You acknowledge that your use of this website is provided “As Is” and without warranties of any kind (either express or implied) to the fullest extent permissible pursuant to applicable law. BestBus disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, accuracy, suitability and fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement of patents, copyrights or proprietary rights of others.
  9. Facebook login and data information is being used to create a user name and account within our system. We use your first, last name, and e-mail to create a profile for quick access and ticket buying. Your information is not being shared with any third parties. If you would like your information to be removed from our database please make a request to our customer service.
 
BestBus TOO Terms and Conditions of Membership
  1. BestBus TOO is a program for frequent travelers on BestBus. This program offers certain benefits to those of our travelers who elect to participate. If you join BestBus TOO, you will be referred to as a “Member”. That is the term used on this web page. All Members are bound by and agree to these terms and conditions ("Terms" for short) posted on this site, which may be amended by BestBus at any time without advance notice.
  2. To become a Member, individuals must register by completing the required fields in the registration form, located here.
  3. Members must also create a username and provide a password. Members will have a personal BestBus TOO account, which is referred to on this web page as your “Account.” By registering, Members represent that the information provided is true, accurate and complete. All Members must ensure that their information is kept true, accurate and complete by updating it at the “Edit My Personal Info” once logged into your Account.
  4. Members must be individuals. Businesses are not eligible to become Members. Members must also be at least eighteen years old.
  5. Members may join BestBus TOO’s mailing list.

Reward Points
  1. Members will earn one reward Point for every dollar spent on the BestBus site.
  2. In order for Points to be automatically added to your account, you must purchase a ticket while logged into your Account.
  3. If you do not purchase the tickets through your Account, you may still earn Points up to thirty (30) days after your trip has been completed. While logged into your Account, you must go to the “Attach an Old Reservation to My Account” page and fill in the Reservation number and your e-mail address. We will validate the information and recalculate your Points balance.
  4. You are responsible for ensuring the Points are properly credited to your Account. If you believe that the Points have been earned but not properly credited, you may be required to submit documentation and other proof satisfactory to BestBus.
  5. Points are redeemable only for tickets to travel on BestBus. When purchasing a one-way ticket, you will need to have accumulated at least 240 Points in your Account to earn a free ticket. When purchasing a round-trip ticket, you will need to have at least 232 Points in your Account to earn a free one-way trip or 464 Points to earn a free round-trip ticket.
  6. When you purchase tickets through your Account, you will have the option to use your Points only if you have accumulated enough Points. Points cannot be combined with cash or another Member’s Points to be redeemed for a free ticket. BestBus reserves the right to limit the quantity of Points redeemed by a Member during any specified period of time.
  7. Points once earned expire 12 months after the date that they were earned.
  8. Points are non-transferable, cannot be held jointly with another person, and may not be transferred by a Member to anyone or under any circumstances, including (a) to another Member; (b) upon the death of a Member; (c) pursuant to a divorce; nor by any other method, including by operation of law. Earned and accrued Points do not constitute property of a Member.
  9. Tickets that were purchased on a 3rd Party website, such as Groupon, Amazon Deals, or Living Social are not eligible for point accumulation.  Also excluded from point accumulation are pre-paid deals, gift cards or any other special promotions on our website and are subject to all of BestBus rules and fees. Promotional value no longer available after redemption.
  10. VIP double reward points are not retroactive and will only apply to reservations made from moment of becoming VIP member
  
Rewards General Terms and Conditions
  1. As a Member, you may become eligible for other discounts and special deals from time to time, if BestBus offers them.
  2. BestBus may, in its sole discretion, change, alter, discontinue or terminate the BestBus TOO program, or any part of BestBus TOO. We may also alter these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any change in these Terms will apply to all Points in your Accounts, as well as any points that you may accumulate in the future.
  3. The laws of the District of Columbia, without giving effect to its conflict of law principles, govern all matters related to BestBus TOO and these Terms. Any party bringing a legal action or proceeding against any other party arising out of or relating to BestBus TOO and these Terms may only bring that action or proceeding in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
  4. If for some reason we don’t enforce a breach of one or more of these Terms, that will not affect our right to enforce them later if we so choose.

  6. BestBus may terminate a Member’s Account and forfeit any Points balance without compensation if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Member engaged in fraud, misrepresentation or abuse of this program, or has violated any of the Terms in any way.
  7. You (as a Member) acknowledge that BestBus assumes no responsibility for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including loss of profits, revenue, use or any other economic disadvantage incurred, arising out of, or in any way related to BestBus TOO or these Terms, under any theory of liability, whether in contract, strict liability, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, even if BestBus knew or should have known of the possibility of such damages.
  8. You (as a Member) agree to indemnify BestBus and hold it harmless from any and all claims, actions, obligations, liabilities and expenses (including but not limited to attorneys’ fees) that are incurred by BestBus arising out of the Member’s breach of these Terms.
  9. Flash sales - tickets will be available for a discounted price for the time of the sale only. Sale is final for the date and time purchased, rescheduling after the sale has ended might result in additional cost due to fare change. Members and VIP members - point gaining is based on amount paid, free tickets calculations are based on full price tickets only. We will not be able to offer the flash sale price after the sale time has ended, if you are having difficulties booking online, please call us for assistance before the sale time has ended.
